Mechanical Engineering

The course has been based around designing and building of grass karts for the annual secondary school challenge. As well as learning skills that will potentially take them on to a successful integration into the work force or prepare students for future tertiary study, the final products (grass karts) have been entered into this grass kart challenge.

Senior Hospitality

Senior students have an option of joining our senior hospitality programme.

Students will spend each Friday with SIT staff and work towards a National Certificate in Catering and Hospitality with both theory and practical work making up the course.

Outdoor Pursuits

A new option for Year 12 students where, each Friday, students with a passion for the outdoors and outdoor type activities will study modules that will generate Level 2 & 3 credits

Computer Game Development

Another new option for Year 12 students where, each Friday, students will spend time developing elements of animation, then put them all together to make computer games. Work will generate Level 2 & 3 credits on the NQF framework.
